FAQ

Common questions

Everything you need to know before you arrive on Norfolk Island.

Get in touch
What's included in the apartment?+
All apartments are fully self-contained with a complete kitchen, bathroom towels, large beach towels, hair dryer, and Wi-Fi. Tea, coffee, sugar, and starter supplies are provided. You won't need to bring anything except your personal items.
Do I need a hire car?+
A vehicle is strongly recommended — Norfolk Island is hilly with plenty of roads to explore. Hire cars book out quickly, so we suggest arranging one at the same time as your accommodation. We can help organise this for you.
Will my mobile phone work on Norfolk Island?+
Global roaming doesn't work here, but some phones can receive calls and texts via Wi-Fi. We provide a mobile phone for calling local restaurants and tour operators — you just pay for calls at Norfolk Telecom's standard rates. A local SIM card is also available for $30, giving you 2GB of data, local calls, and texts.
Is it easy to purchase groceries on Norfolk Island?+
Yes — Norfolk Island has a good selection of supermarkets and local stores stocking fresh produce, dairy, meat, and pantry essentials. Most visitors find everything they need on the island. If you do want to bring packaged goods from home, professionally packaged items from Australian supermarkets are generally permitted, but fresh fruit, vegetables, honey, and meats with fresh herbs are not allowed through biosecurity.
Should I book tours and restaurants before arriving?+
Yes — especially during peak periods, popular restaurants and tours can fill up well in advance. Our managers are happy to give recommendations and help with bookings once you arrive or before you leave home.
